lazzbo wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 7:24 pm It's been thoroughly panned for having an agenda. The Humanist Society wrote a very long open letter about how its participation was edited to suit their narrative. With hindsight, I think all of the Serial series have been dodgy.
What do you think of the first one? That was the only one I was really interested in.

I am mostly listening to the BBC's Ukrainecast, and Twin Flames which is quite disturbing and sad. French & Saunders can be found on a great series called Whatever Happened To Baby Jane Austen which made me laugh muchly. I'm also enjoying Comfort Blanket as a bit of light relief.

Warning about Twin Flames: the narrator claims "some lesbians enjoy penises, and some lesbians have penises." I will be complaining, but :ella:

:ella: FFS.

I've gone right off Poog. It used to be really funny, but it's just rambly now.

Best Friend Therapy is ok, although I find Elizabeth Day only ok in small doses.

If anyone listened to the Teachers Pet podcast a few years ago, the trial of Lynetts ex husband has just begun, and there will be a weekly episode covering the trial.

Oooh! Trial schmial though - he did it, regardless of his hair.

Will Be Wild - about the January 6th insurrection in the US. Fascinating and horrifying as you'd expect.

For rather lighter listening, Even The Rich are doing a deep dive into Dolly Parton.

I listened to that a few months ago, it's completely mad!

I've just finished Sympathy Pains, as recommended by Ruby. I would love to have the chance to question Sarah Delashmit, she's fascinating. I wonder if she's still doing it?

I bet she is. Even if it's just on a forum somewhere.

Yeah, it’s just too easy isn’t it? Especially for a woman who went as far as allowing someone to assist her with her tampons.

This - and the Sympathy Pains woman - remind me of P*ppy.

I don't understand why "Bobby"'s victim tried to get the police on them, though. What had they done which was illegal?

BBC Sounds have a podcast about Brewdog and the guys who set it up. They did an expose documentary too but this dives a bit deeper.

Londongrad by Tortoise Media is very good, if rather depressing. Its about Russian money in London and the influence of the Lebedevs.

I'm enjoying

- "Don't Point That Horror at Me" - not because it's particularly good, but it's a lovely trip down memory lane as each month the hosts go through a Point Horror book.

- The Rest Is History, a fascinating and amusing history podcast

- Comfort Blanket, in which people talk about films, books, songs, etc. which comfort them in times of trouble

I also love the Rest Is History - I’m a member of their club - but I particularly enjoyed the three part series they just did about the history of holidays and the development of the leisure industry, it was fascinating!

Anyone listen to Meghan Markle’s interview with Serena? I’m not such a fan of Meghan’s but do like Serena a lot, so would have been tempted to listen, but the extracts I’ve heard made me think there’s not much substance in it.
