Show your (craft)work

Incorporating hobbies, computer games, Verm's Interesting Links and anything else you can think of excluding football and other spectator sports because these belong in the Sport section, but allowing sports you play yourself with your own body as that counts as a pastime.

It’s alpine fleece and I’ve wanted one since I used it for the girls. That’s 3 of those hoodies now in different fabrics; I think that’s me sorted for now.

Last ones for today. They looked good on Doris together over Christmas, but will never adorn me at same time.

That’s cable knit out of my system now.

I popped into a sewing shop in Bath, killing time while my car was serviced and to pick up some thread. The owner mentioned they were having a 25% off fabric event so I’ve stocked up with a few things that I could actually *feel* before buying.

Here is what 2020 looked like / felt like.
One square every Sunday.

It needs to be read from the top, zig zagging down to the bottom. Funnily enough the first and last squares are the same colours (Sage, Stylecraft special DK, for fact fans).

Thanks. The dark green squares aren't as dark IRL. So it's not quite as hideous as it looks.

I'm debating starting a temperature blanket. I should probably finish at least one of the others first though.

I found a bag of wadding when I was clearing up the study earlier, which I’d removed from an IKEA cushion so that it wouldn’t fill out the crochet cover I’d made for it quite so plumply and there would be room to insert my PJs, which I then never bother to do. Anyway, I’m thinking I might use the wadding to try something in the amigurumi line. Still working on my Royal Icing blanket, though, I think I’m about 2/3 through.

The badge is so cute!

I received my Fat Quarter gift exchange - it’s a lovely purse! I couldn’t imagine having the patience to make something like it myself.

Woah, that’s very clever!

I have finished the blanket and now have no idea what to do.

Oh Wendy, that really cool!
Cerise, I always feel kind of bereft when I finish a project and I have to have a day or so (or more) before starting something new.

It’s not that really. In the lead up to Christmas, I had Christmas projects, the pop up shop and the blanket on the go. Now that’s all done, I don’t know what to make. Also, the boys are home and I feel a bit restless and skitty. Too many interruptions!

This pattern is currently free on Ravelry if you are looking for a crochet project. It looks challenging, but I don't crochet, so have no clue, really. It might be a good one to use up any leftovers if you have them?

It’s very cute but there’s nowhere for it to go when it’s done! I’ll soon settle to something.

Sorry - I wasn't trying to pressurise you into making an animal blanket

It just happened that I was browsing Ravelry when you posted, saw the pattern was free and thought someone who crochets might like it. It's very different from most crocheted blankets (I think).

I checked with Elvis before buying this pattern and she was up for such a clashing scrappy garment. When it came I managed to use some of all our recent animal fabrics; the whole back is the bee fabric. It’s a tunic length on her.

Very nice, I got a picture on WhatsApp this morning so she's clearly pleased with it. ♥️

Ha, you’ve probably already been sent this one too, you lucky thing.

Sproglette made this following instructions from a book aimed at young sewists. It’s lack of finishing pains me, but she’s delighted.

I have, I did wonder if it was her own effort due to the lack of edging / stitching at the neck. The sleeves are amazing though.
