Re: Covid-19
I’ve just checked and it’s 81 days. I’ve done a few in between that were all def neg including daily since Friday. Yesterday’s showed a faint line but it took an hour to come up. Today’s was def pos within 15 minutes.

Re: Covid-19
It's on the BBC website today that if you don't have symptoms you don't need to confirm a lateral flow with a PCR.
The Govt changes advice so often and so last minute that the content writers and UX designers of the assorted websites involved are constantly playing a stressful game of catch up so it's not surprising that there's a lag.
Hope you continue symptom free or it's just a 90 day thing!

Thanks. The PCR booking process fell over partway through so I suspected they were still updating it.Rebel Pebble wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 10:00 am It's on the BBC website today that if you don't have symptoms you don't need to confirm a lateral flow with a PCR.

Personally, I'd not even bother trying for the PCR and would just start isolating from today. You poor sod, after all that to-ing and fro-ing last time!

Re: Covid-19
The only reason I’d bother with a PCR is to know if it’s def omicron but given this is the second time round it almost certainly is.

Re: Covid-19
Since this is the only place I trust for info can anyone please explain to me why only symptomatic people need to get a PCR test surely it's asymptomatic people to confirm the lat flow is right
I just can't get my head around only getting a PCR if you've got symptoms
Thank you kind people

Re: Covid-19
You are only really supposed to take an LFT if you have no symptoms. If you do you should go directly to a pcr anyway.

To be honest I don’t really get it either Dizz. If I think about any of it too carefully I completely lose my grasp on the small certainties I do have.
I don’t think I was supposed to get a pcr just now, but the site gave us the option so I went for it.

I thought it was because there was so much demand for PCRs and this is one way to free up spaces. If you have a positive LFT, then you should act like you've had a positive PCR and follow that guidance. From what I know, the odds of a false positive on a LFT are low so is there a need for a PCR to confirm it*? Especially if the demand is so high for PCRs.
*I know some workplaces insist on it though.

That's how I understand it. You are still supposed to report a positive LFT though.sally maclennane wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 11:51 am I thought it was because there was so much demand for PCRs and this is one way to free up spaces. Re: Covid-19
Ah so if you have symptoms but lat flow is negative go for PCR
But if lat flow is positive regardless if you have symptoms or not no PCR ?
Clear as mud

If you have symptoms go for a PCR. LFTs are for asymptomatic I think.
More positives in here! How does Squeak feel, and you Tex? And anyone else! I hope not too unwell.

I managed to buy some auto tests yesterday and it says on the packet that they're only to be used if you're asymptomatic.

Re: Covid-19
Yeah, anyone with symptoms should go straight to PCR.
I do LFTs if I'm going anywhere with other people. I did one on Saturday morning when I was going to meet my friend for a coffee, if it had been positive, I wouldn't have to go for a PCR at that point. I'd have reported it, and begun isolating there and then.
