Death Tracker 2024

Post by rosy »

Derek Draper (Kate Garraway’s husband) has died aged 56.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

Thats really sad, 56 is not old and he'd had a terrible experience of Covid.

Glynis Johns also died yesterday at the grand age of 100. She played Mrs Banks in the original Mary Poppins film and Sondheim wrote Send in the Clowns specifically for her. Great, great performer and one of the last from the golden age of hollywood.

Derek Draper’s illness was terrible but this is the kindest outcome all round. Poor bloke had no quality of life.

I feel the same Luna. It's so sad.

I loved Glynis Johns in Mary Poppins.

Very sad about David Soul. Had a huge crush on him as a young teen.

JPR Williams and Franz Beckenbauer, yesterday. Not a good day for sport.

Yes indeed, I remember listening to her late night show on my transistor radio (ear piece) under the bed covers when I was a teen. :granny:

Same here. She had a show on after the top 40 on a Sunday between 7 and 9pm I think and she played some great indie music. She also involved the listeners a lot as she read out all their mail which people used to write in coloured pens and garish paper when it became a thing in the 80s. I discovered all sorts of great music like the Cocteau Twins etc through her.
RIP Annie, legend.

I thought she'd died a little while ago, but I think I was confusing her with Janice Long.

AN was definitely a woman in a man's world, and also remember her from The Olden Days. She was, indeed, a legend.
