I’ve got a scrub daddy. They last ages. Normal washing sponges go manky and fall apart after a week or so.

Oh. I just replace the normal washing-up sponges every week or so, although they do get used in various different capacities for 4 weeks before being chucked. (Yes, it probably it horrible for the environment, but )

I have a pan* soaking from last night that will need some serious scrubbing action.

*One of my kids often makes (done-to-death) scrambled eggs in a stainless steel pan. It's such a nightmare to clean.

The rule in our house was if you burnt the pan, you washed the pan. I learnt this the hard way after burning sugar whilst making popcorn. I didn’t agitate the pan and ended up with black tar on the bottom of a saucepan. took forever to clean. Probably with an old fashioned Brillo.

It's not technically burned, just stuck fast. Ideally she would wash it, but that would either mean it never gets done, or she stops cooking herself healthy things. I would just like to find a better pan for the job, or some other solution.

I got a Daddy Caddy last Christmas as an ironic present from S, and I love it . It has one of all of their scrubby things, and I find them all very good. The only thing I've never used is a hideous plastic soap dispenser that you can operate with your elbow. Everything else (specially the damp duster) is great, and there is always a Daddy/Mummy in the holder thing next to the sink.

Zooms - they last for ages, and are stiff and hard when dry, but flexible and softer when wet. The sponge side creates suds, and their faces mean you can hold them easily by gouging out their eyes, and you can slice their mouths with cutlery and clean it on both sides at once

I love Scrub Daddies/Mommies. They last for ages and can go in the dishwasher. They are not hard in hot water. The best scrubbing action ever involves a Scrub Daddy and Power Paste. It makes anything chrome super super shiny.

Would it not scratch chrome? What chrome do you scrub? I am still recovering from my Scrub Mommy cuts

I have a kettle and a toaster with chrome parts, and the coffee machine also. It doesn't scratch. I've cleaned my glass hob with it also and it doesn't scratch.

However I am not telling you to do any of those things just in case. It's Christmas, I cannot afford to buy you a new hob.
